The end of the semester is close, but the work isn't over yet. I learned there is so much more work that needs to go into preproduction than I had previously thought. It's so easy to just think you can bang out a quality work like nothing, something I had felt like I could do. But you can't, in the end it's all about the team. I'm happy to say that I really like the group I'm with, and I'm more than happy with the roles I've taken on.
I came into this program thinking I would be very character-focussed, but in the end I realized I was much more into environments and storytelling. Without much aggressive pushing on my own, I definitely fell into that side in regards to our short film. I'm happy with the collaborative work that I've done; and it's great to get some good responses and positive feedback during a time of insanity.
I've been doing a lot of work on the schoolhouse and sign concepts, though I hope in the following work days this summer that I can also take a swing at assets within the Old Man's house.
Below is some progress on the schoolhouse and the school sign, as well as a side-by-side of a render with a concept of the reaper world. There's a lot more to show for both the assets I'm working on in the short, those can be seen in my latest demo reel.
